Amsterdam East - 1990’s rental flat
The budget and the timeline were both very limited — the owner’s objective was to put this unit back on the rental market within 2 months — but there was art. The addition of unique art, both contemporary and early 20th century, transformed the space into a proper home for a discerning new expat: a flat with a mix of influences (Swedish, Dutch, Japanese), both playful and serious, functional and sculptural. Aside from minor refurbishment work, there was no major renovation involved here, showing what is possible with efficiency and a desire to reduce the environmental footprint.
